He was involved in managing and assisting in all baseball activities from little league to high school. He was born October 18, 1946 in Akron, Ohio. Jerry received a Purple Heart while serving in Vietnam , and later retired from The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. after 35 years of service. He worked part-time at Firestone Country Club and was a member of the Mogadore Moose. He is survived by his mother, Frances Pittman (Jim); father, Lowell Lenington (Opal); daughters, Julie Lenington (Steven), Lone Lenington (Scotty); son, Jerry Lenington, Jr.. (Kristin); grandchildren who meant the world to him, Tyler, Emmie and Jordan; sisters, Sheila Hrubovcak, Judy Rutherford (Mike); half-sister, Karen Lenington; loving companion, JoAnn Denious and her children, Kolton and Kayla; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; mother of his children, Betty Lenington.
