TodayObituary from the Akron Beacon Journal Jan. 19, 2006 Larry L. Fordham (Papa) was born Oct. 13, 1948, raised in Tallmadge, and moved back to Tallmadge to raise his baby girl. On , Jan. 16, 2006, he finished his seven-year fight with stage 4 coIon cancer like the true champion he was. ![]() Preceded in death by his pa rents, Dale and Gwendolyn Bonnie Fordham, he leaves behind his soulmate of almost 40 years of marriage, Bonnie K. I Fordham; his devoted daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Jim Jackson; his greatest joy in life, his grandsons, James A. and Steven L. Jackson of Tallmadge; his sister, Bonnie (Wayne) Rutledge of Ellet; brothers, Carl Fordham of De Land, Fla., Marlin (Becky) Fordham of Camp Verde, Ariz.; brothers-in-law, Butch Dawson, Jim Hedden, Tim (Brenda) Hedden of the Atlanta, Ga., area; extended family, Aunt Rosie, Linda and Wes Milliken, Patricia Jackson, Harold and Flo McAbee, and Candy Black. Larry's love and commitment to children is evident in that he will be greatly missed by his grandsons, godson, and all of his nephews and nieces, Mark, Allen, Vicki, Barbie, Pat, Paul, Michelle, Randy, Dan, Stephanie, Shon, Heather, and Kim Allen, and great-nieces and -nephews. He worked and made many close friends at Goodyear Data Center for 24 years and was outsourced with those friends to IBM. They all remained close to his heart. Larry was a member of the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, where he proudly served as a deacon in the past. In his memory, Larry requested that you find out your family history and get checked accordingly. Larry is no longer with us.
